Man arrested for multiple offences thanks to PCSOs on patrol

A man was arrested on suspicion of several offences thanks to the quick actions of PCSOs out on patrol in Three Rivers yesterday (Tuesday 11 August).

PCSOs John and Chris started their day by hosting a crime prevention event, focusing on how to protect belongings from pickpockets. It was well attended, with numerous members of the public stopping to chat and give positive feedback.

Following the event, the pair conducted high-visibility patrols around South Oxhey, engaging with shopkeepers to discuss any concerns around theft, anti-social behaviour and town centre safety.

During a quick hydration pitstop, the pair were approached by a member of the public who reported that an attempt had just been made to steal his wallet from his back pocket.

A description was obtained and an immediate search of the area was carried out.

A man was subsequently stopped and detained by the pair, before fellow Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) colleagues arrived to make an arrest.

Meanwhile, officers in Watford were investigating a separate theft offence in their area and were also searching for a suspect, who happened to match the description of the man detained in Three Rivers.
